Nuriia Khasenova is a flutist and performer born in Kazakhstan, raised in Russia, and based in Switzerland since 2012. Trained in classical music in Geneva and Zurich, she completed Master’s degrees in Music Performance and Music Pedagogy, while simultaneously expanding her practice into transdisciplinary performance.

Her work moves between classical, contemporary, folk, and improvised music, combining sound, text, movement, and improvisation. Engaging with experimental and collaborative formats, she explores how personal experience can resonate within broader social and cultural contexts.

As a soloist, chamber musician and performer, she has performed at festivals such as Archipel Genève, IGNM Zürich, Musik Festival Bern, Rümlingen Festival, as well as internationally in Europe, Australia, and Asia. Alongside her musical work, she is actively involved in interdisciplinary projects, with performances in Switzerland, Finland, and Hong Kong.

She is a co-founder of Kollektiv International Totem (KIT), an interdisciplinary platform developing music theatre and performance projects through collaborative and research-based approaches.

In 2025, she was selected as a winner of the Nicati Competition (Open Space) with the project Between One and Many, presented in Zürich and on tour in Bern and Basel.

Based in Biel, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music and Movement at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, continuing to expand her artistic language across disciplines.
